Terori Hareko-Avaivilla

Terori is a passionate First Nations community advocate, cultural educator and artist.

‘I am a First Nation’s business professional with over 20 years of experience in community development and in public health. My focus is phianthropic partnerships, fund investment and sustainability, particularly in donor relationships and First Nations giving space’.

Terori is currently the CEO of KWT Fund, previously holding the KWT Committee Chair position. Terori was appointed to the KWT committee as a founding member. Terori comes from a health and community development background with 20 years of strategic engagement, event and business management, project management, graphics communication and cultural education facilitation. Terori was 2015/16 Fellowship for Indigenous Leadership Emerging Leader awardee. Previous to that, she was the awardee under the Victorian Government State Training Awards, as Trainee of the Year 2005. These recognitions have launched her passion for community development and leadership. Terori brings her rich Islander identity as a salt water woman with tri-cultural heritage, infusing her songlines of Papua New Guinea, Torres Strait and Samoa to provide a unique world view, knowledge systems and cultural practices. Terori's passionate about working with purpose and a focus on social justice, cultural healing and inclusion of all peoples.
