What we offer

KWT community grants are open twice per year in the month of March and in the month of August. Like and Follow our Facebook page for updates. Do you have a great community project idea? Yarn to our business support team about our grant rounds and how to apply. We will accept expressions of interest from eligible individuals, community groups, and gathering places. General terms and conditions apply. 

How we will help you:

  • Discuss your project idea and determine if your project meets our granting guidelines.

  • Discuss the application process with you and support your application.

  • Discuss your obligation to ensure we recieve an acquittal, outlining what we are looking for in your acquittal. 

  • Provide you with an application form. NOTE: *For First Nations individuals and community groups that have not applied for a grant before, please yarn to us. We are happy to help you with our application process.

The process

Grant seekers speak with the Business support team to discuss their project or event idea. The grant manager will discuss grantee obligations and reporting requirements. Provide you with an application form.

Submit your application via online form or directly to: kwtfund@gmail.com by indicated date. Late applications will not be considered.  


Applications will be shortlisted by the business support team. Shortlisted applications will be forwarded to the committee for decisions and outcome.

The business support team team will notify the successful grantees and make arrangements to meet via zoom or in person.

Payments can not be made without all the proper paper work in place.

What do we fund

  • First Nations community groups or gathering places

  • First Nations social clubs

  • First Nations community individuals

  • Projects that address one or more of out impact areas

  • Youth focused

  • Elders focused / stories

  • Women and girls focused

  • Men and boys focused 

  • Community Wellness

  • Cultural protection & Preservation

What we don’t fund

  • Peak body organisations / community organisations (such as ACCHOs)

  • Schools, Tafes or Universities

  • Business start ups

  • Product development

  • Non-First Nations organisations, groups or clubs

  • Government agencies

  • Inter-state organisations, groups, clubs or community centres

  • Grantees who have not yet done their acquittal
