Our legacy

Initial seed funding gifted by Toward a Just Society. A legacy dreaming story acknowledging the lives of Sid Spindler and Halina Strnads, and the founding members of Towards a Just Society, and its transition into a First Nations Led Community.

KWT committee

The KWT committee is 100% Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander led. Members come from both the metropolitan and regional areas of Victoria. Ensuring that KWT has a wide reach.

Grant Funding

KWT grants are open to Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Victorians. The funding is focused on community driven projects that empower and address wellness. Individuals, community groups and clubs are encouraged to apply.

Grant process

The KWT grant process is simple and easy to use. We have an online form as well as a downloadable application form. There are two rounds of Funding each year. Our Grant process is once off only, we will not refund the same projects.

Funding Limitations

The KWT Community Fund will not fund the following:

  • Peak body organisations / community organisations

  • Businesses or Business start ups


  • Product development

  • For profit Events / Forums
