KWT grants are open twice per year in the month of March and in the month of October. NAIDOC Grants are available once a year. Please monitor our Facebook page for updates here. If you have a great project idea, put in your application by downloading and filling out the application form, submit your application via email to the KWT EO. We will accept expressions of interest from eligible individuals, community groups, and gathering places. General terms and conditions apply. 



STEP 1. Grant-seekers will submit a brief written application and submit it to the KWT Board of Directors via the Executive Officer.


STEP 2. Applications will be short-listed and the Executive Officer will visit those applicants and/or communities.

STEP 3. The Advisory Group will then make final decisions re successful grant recipients.​

What KWT will fund and not fund:

​KWT will provide funding to community projects that:

  • Support Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander community and cultural wellness.

  • That address social justice issues and family violence

  • Support the cultural development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.

  • Supports the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander community members ( inclusive of sports, health promotion events, creative, yarning circles, ceremony and storytelling, Connecting to Country, camps, community events, Education, professional development).

KWT will not fund:

  • Business start ups.

  • Programs already funded (ie: if you got funded for a basketball clinic, you will not be funded to run the same program).

  • Community organisations & programs that receive Government funding.

  • Grantees or organisations who have not yet provided an aquittal to KWT.

  • Source of income - Our grants not provided to support income gaps or increase to income, funds are provided only for activities that benefit the community.
