Deborah Walsh

Deborah is currently a Collective Impact project team leader for the Connected Beginnings program in Shepparton, working within the backbone organisation of Save the Children now known as 54 Reasons. With a long career in public service at senior management levels across communities in the service delivery area. She previously worked with Aboriginal community-controlled organisation Rumbalara in the Goulburn Valley around Families and Children in the out of home care system and the reforms. Deborah is a Williamson Community Leadership Alumni fellow graduate of 2009 and was CEO of the Indigenous Leadership Network Victoria. She has a Advanced Diploma in Business management and acquired qualification in Family Therapy. She is also a small business owner with two family businesses, Nalingu which produces skin and beauty products that have been part of Qantas inflight service, and Burnanga Aboriginal Fishing Club Incorporation in Shepparton. Deborah is a Victorian Honorary Justice of the Peace for over 20 yeras. She is a strong advocate for economic independence and has held a board position with First Nations Credit Union since its inception. She is a volunteer for the Winter Night Shelter in Shepparton and continue to support social justice issues across the community in which she lives.
